Falmouth Sea Shanty Festival 2019: Our Highlights
Falmouth Sea Shanty Festival 2019 at The Working Boat pub
The hotly anticipated Falmouth Sea Shanty Festival 2019 kicked off on the 14th June, when Falmouth town flooded with locals and visitors. The weekend saw our seaside hometown transform into a vibrant venue ready to celebrate Cornish heritage and music. The sounds of the sea reverberated through the streets, and at the Working Boat pub we were thrilled to be a part of the buzz.
A feel-good festival
Everyone who joined us at the Working Boat over the weekend embraced the true spirit of this unique and historic festival. Nautical clothing was worn, a lot of Cornish beer was enjoyed by all and toes were tapping to the fantastic sea shanty singers. 16 brilliant sea shanty groups performed in total, including Fisherman’s Friends, Cadgwith Singers and Femmes de la Mer.
Our Working Boat chefs were busy serving up delicious food from our new events menu. Homemade pizzas loaded with mouthwatering toppings hot out of the pizza ovens were demolished by hungry festival-goers, and our fresh Buddha bowls went down a treat in the gorgeous sunshine. We couldn’t have hoped for a better turn out, and the weather stayed on our side. We hope you all had as much fun as we did at our most successful Sea Shanty Festival yet!
We’re already counting down to next year, but until then why not check out our Sea Shanty Festival 2019 highlights below?:
