HISTORICAL CORNISH PUBS – THE WORKING BOAT, FALMOUTH
There has been a pub on the site of The Working Boat for more than 300 years. Originally used as the inn’s tap room, it was frequented by workers and locals alike. As the inn became a hotel, the pub remained and became the base for oystermen to ‘refresh’ themselves after a long day out on the boat.
This tradition continues today with The Working Boat being the base for the Falmouth Working Boat Association, where you can find many of its members sinking a few at the bar most weekends after racing. And don’t forget that for every pint of our own brew ‘The Working Boat’ that is sold we will donate 5p to the FWBA. So down the hatch at one of the oldest historical Cornish pubs in Falmouth!
