ADMIRE THE FAMOUS MOUSEHOLE LIGHTS

Arguably the most well-known Christmas lights display in Cornwall. Locals from across the county travel far and wide to get a glimpse of this magical Christmas scene. Mousehole lights are a must-see from 12th December – 5th January, as the picturesque harbour comes to life with unique and charming lights. One of our favourite Cornish Christmas traditions, walk down to the fishing village, warm your cockles on a mulled wine and admire the pretty lights.

SHOP TIL YOU DROP AT LATE NIGHT SHOPPING

With so many unique high streets and characterful villages, late night shopping is a great way to soak up the festive atmosphere whilst getting all your present-buying done and dusted. Support local businesses and check out the high street near you for late night shopping times over Christmas. Truro is one of the best places for late night shopping, as the city is illuminated with festive cheer. Every Wednesday from 27th November, explore the Christmas market at your own pace and treat your loved ones to something truly special this season.

SINK YOUR TEETH INTO A FESTIVE PASTY

Over the yuletide season, head into your local bakery as the traditional Cornish pasty has had a festive makeover. These limited edition Christmas flavours, crimped to perfection, are ideal for warming your hands on a winter’s day. Cornish Christmas traditions don’t get more tasty than this! Even better, join us at The Working Boat on Christmas Eve for a piping hot pasty, whilst listening to the soulful sounds of Eight in a Bar.

EMBRACE A CHRISTMAS DAY SWIM

A very popular (and chilly) Cornish Christmas tradition. On Christmas Day join the thousands of people who flock to their local beach to embrace the waves. Fancy dress is optional but encouraged at this wonderful community-spirited event.

SING-A-LONG WITH CAROLLERS

Enjoy the melodic tunes of Christmas carollers up and down the county. From choir performances in local churches to shanty singers in the streets, carollers are the best way to put you in the festive spirit. Don’t miss the annual Cornish Christmas Harmony Choir’s performance in Falmouth on Christmas Eve – a wonderful century old tradition.
