The Big Spring Beach Clean is Back

The Big Spring Beach Clean is Back

After the success of our previous beach cleans, we’re excited share our latest event!

We’re inviting you to join us on May 9th to help preserve our coastlines. The Working Boat’s Big Spring Beach Clean will be taking place only a few metres away from the pub on Greenbank beach, commencing at 3pm and finishing with refreshments at 5pm.

Our beach clean is part of Surfers Against Sewage’s campaign – The Million Mile Clean. Well known Cornish activists, Surfers Against Sewage are encouraging likeminded environmentalists to join in with their quest to keep our marine life and coast line pristine. The aim of the current campaign is to preserve the coastlines by encouraging communities to take part in their own beach clean until 1,000,000 miles of shoreline has been cleaned.

And as an incentive to round up volunteers, we’re offering a post clean treat. The Cornish brewery Sharps have kindly donated a keg of Atlantic pale ale, so after the clean a refreshing brew will be on us and equally delicious soft drinks of your choice will also be on offer. The kitchen brigade at The Greenbank will also be providing hot and filling pasties too afterwards- the perfect way to finish an afternoon of hard work.

Join us for our Big Spring Beach Clean on the 9th May. We’ve got the gear; all you need to do is turn up. Meet our crew outside the pub at 3pm, where we’ll then head to the quay to collect any waste and rubbish we spot.
