Falmouth’s Top 5 Christmas Window Displays
FROM SURFING SANTAS TO TRADITIONAL RED ROBINS, DISCOVER OUR FAVOURITE CHRISTMAS SHOP WINDOWS IN FALMOUTH.
A creative mecca, Falmouth’s high street shines any time of the year and Christmas is no exception. With a bounty of independent shops and a prize to be won, it’s no surprise a walk through the town can leave you feeling more than a bit festive. Can’t make it to Falmouth this December? Not to worry, we’ve compiled the list of Falmouth’s Top 5 Christmas Shop Windows.
LOVE AND HONOR
A new addition to Falmouth High Street but already making a big impression is flower and homeware shop Love and Honor. Having started in St. Agnes these guys boast seasonal blooms from their own flower farm. They promote British grown and sustainably sourced blooms. A simple and traditional pine needle wreath with a jolly red ribbon is just the thing to ring in the festive season… pun intended.
BEACON COFFE AND JEZEBEL
Taking the award for the most playful window displays are Beacon Coffee and Jezebel. Turning tradition on it’s head, we love these Nine Ladies getting their grove on. Look closely and you’ll spot some of our favourite historical honeys. Taking a look at Beacon Coffee and this strung out Santa, created by Cornwall based Artist Alastair Knowles-Lenoir, has us feel a lot better about our festive hangovers.
Any Falmouth local knows when it comes to window displays, homeware and stationary connoisseurs Willow and Stone smash it (figuratively of course…). This year is no different and it’s no surprise they came top in the Falmouth’s Best Dressed Festive Window Competition. Featuring oversized crackers and traditional paper chains, the star of the show has to be Mr. Robin. Handmade from fabric and paint by Willow and Stone team member, Fliss, this winter wonder is sure to warm even the coldest of Christmas hearts.
Speaking of talented artists, contemporary gallery Beside the Wave enlisted the help of local Illustrator Laura Page for their display. Page hand painted a selection of adorable characters as well as a magical seascape of Falmouth Harbour at night to create this impressive snow globe. Make sure to check out Laura’s Instagram for some great behind the scenes pictures.
