We love hosting unforgettable events here at The Working Boat, and 2020 will be no exception! From Cornish shanty singing to epic beer festivals and charity pub quizzes, keep up to date with our calendar of events throughout 2020.

SAS BEACH CLEAN | FRIDAY 10TH APRIL

We are passionate about supporting the environment. Our bi-annual beach cleans are a great way for us to do our bit in keeping the coast around us free from plastic and other waste. Sponsored by Sharp’s Brewery, get involved with our spring beach clean in collaboration with Surfers Against Sewage. And as a thank you we’ll treat all volunteers to a pint afterwards. Gloves and equipment will be provided and our timings will be confirmed on our Facebook page. Find out more about our previous beach clean here.

THE GREENBANK FAL RIVER FESTIVAL BEER FLEET | FRIDAY 22ND MAY

Watch this wonderful spectacle which kick-starts the Fal River Festival, where a flotilla of boats from Falmouth, Truro, Mylor and St Mawes will join each other in a convoy across the river. Where better to celebrate the arrival of The Greenbank Fal River Festival than at this launch party? Head to our events marquee for a jolly shindig after – with live music and lots of local tipples! THE WORKING BOAT MINI BEER FESTIVAL | SATURDAY 23RD MAY

As part of The Greenbank Fal River Festival, we’ll be throwing our annual Mini Beer Festival, with all our favourite local beers, ales, ciders and more! Sponsored by Sharp’s Brewery and Tarquin’s Gin, sink a few cold ones in our events marquee on the quay and tap your toes to some great live music from folk rock and ceilidh band, Jonah’s Lift. TARQUIN’S GIN CLUB | SUNDAY 24TH MAY

A G&T by the sea, what could be more perfect on a bank holiday weekend? Join in our gin-tastic event to wrap up our bank holiday weekend festivities, hosted by the wonderful Tarquin’s Gin. Enjoy a gin and tonic on arrival, discover the history behind one of Cornwall’s most successful gin distilleries and get involved with gin cocktail demos as Tarquin’s takeover the events marquee for the afternoon. FALMOUTH SEA SHANTY FESTIVAL | 12TH – 14TH JUNE

Get ready to sing-a-long to the songs of the sea at the Falmouth International Sea Shanty Festival. Our coastal hometown will be paying homage to Cornish heritage and music in June. We’re excited to be one of the official venues for lots of brilliant sea shanty groups. Warm up those vocal chords and get ready for a classic Cornish knees-up in the sun. FALMOUTH WEEK | 7TH – 16TH AUGUST

One of our favourite Working Boat events in 2020. We’ll be kicking off the week’s celebrations with our pre-party Pink Wig night on the 7th August, where the parade will begin from our quay. We then have a brilliant line-up in the tent on the quay throughout the week, including live music from Falmouth Soul Sensation, Me and the Devil, Ten Bob Notes and Cornwall Concert Orchestra. We’ll be serving up stone baked pizzas hot from the oven and lots of local tipples to keep the party going all week long. Pop down and raise a glass to fabulous Falmouth. All events will be free to attend.

CHEFS ON THE QUAY | WEDNESDAY 12TH AUGUST

Our popular Chefs on the Quay rustic feast night will be returning during Falmouth Week. Joining us will be six talented local chefs working together to whip up a six-course rustic banquet. Watch the chefs work their culinary magic, before tucking into tasty Cornish cuisine beside the water’s edge. All profits will be donated to the Cornwall Community Foundation. THE WORKING BOAT MINI CHRISTMAS FESTIVAL | THURSDAY 17TH DECEMBER

For oodles of yuletide cheer and last-minute Christmas shopping, look no further than our Mini Christmas Festival. Discover unique stocking fillers and gift ideas at our local craft stalls, drink and be merry with plenty of mulled cider and wine, indulge in festive food and free mince pies, and sing-a-long to the beautiful tunes of our carol singers. After all, it’s the most wonderful time for a beer! Free entry.

CHARITY PUB QUIZZES | EVERY SUNDAY 7:30PM

Join us on a Sunday evening, when our Working Boat crew host the legendary pub quiz from 7:30pm. Each month, we have a chosen charity that we aim to raise as much money as possible for. The quiz is free to come along to, with an optional suggested £1 donation to our charity of the month. Gather your best trivia team, tuck into hearty pub grub and end the weekend with a few drinks and a fun quiz night!
